Vivian Gottfredson, Junior Cutting Specialist
I came to the beauty industry with a strong foundation in the visual arts. In 2007 I moved to Portland from my hometown of Las Vegas to study Sculpture with a focus on contemporary art and art theory. My approach to hair is consequentially from a sculptural perspective and is guided by each client, their physicality, personality, and lifestyle.
Building the perfect haircut for each person is an exciting collaboration between the client and myself, and I am never intimidated by being told “do whatever you want,” or “I’m not sure what I want I just need a change.” These are great opportunities for showing my clients a renewed perspective of themselves.
My focus is primarily on hair cutting though I am happy to discuss color with my established clients. The perfect hair cut has the ability to make you look and feel your best, and so I devote all of my professional time and energy to continually educating myself on different cutting methodologies. I have an intimate understanding and love of form, and my cutting style is equally creative and precision driven. I enjoy working with all hair types, genders, and a diverse range of styles. No matter what your relationship with your hair is I welcome you to my chair.
I am queer identified, and warmly welcome all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
